Black Powder Toys (also known as BPT) is a 5-piece modern rock band that formed in North Vancouver, BC, Canada in 2006. Founded by vocalist Clayton Blancard and keyboardist Pete Ryznar, the band additionally consists of Tom Lawreszuk on guitar, Matt Pavan on percussion and Don Binns (Sons of Freedom, Econoline Crush, Lee Aaron) on bass. Their independent debut album, Made in China, was recently released this past year.

BPT have just returned from a 2-week tour in Poland performing a number of shows in both Warsaw and Krakow. They played Poland’s largest charity event - the 20th Anniversary Grand Finale Concert for The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. This one day festival in downtown Warsaw was attended by over 80,000 and raised over $15 million US for underfunded hospitals across the country. BPT was the only North American band on the bill. Over 1700 bands applied for 16 spots. The charity concert was televised live on both national channels of Polish TV (TVP1, TVP2) and various other media networks.

Back at home, BPT performed at the Harvest Project's Hand-up concert at the Centennial Theatre and recently shared the stage with the popular Polish rock band, Lombard, at a sold out Terry Fox Theatre in Coquitlam. In 2010, Black Powder Toys played six Winter Olympic shows, including the Plaza of Nations and the Olympic Torch Relay. They also played alongside Colin James, the Odds, Chilliwack, Shari Ulrich, at the Music Family Benefit Concert in Vancouver.

Made in China was the last CD ever recorded at North Vancouver's Bakerstreet studios. It is a tribute to producer extraordinaire Paul Baker who lost his battle to cancer in Sept 2010. Featured guest musicians include Paul Hyde (Payolas) Megan Metcalfe, and Dave Steele (Motley Crue, the Cult).

Black Powder Toys debut CD continues to win the band new fans with its edgy melodies and catchy choruses. The album is currently being played on a number of stations across Poland. Push Pull their first single, and Stones Throw are currently in rotation on Radio 3 in Warsaw. Black Powder Toys Made in China can be found on iTunes and Amazon world-wide.
